So I have this theory… Men can multitask. Ok, ladies just wait a second. You guys should do the same.

Think for a minute, about your kitchen stove. Four burners, mostly different sizes. Big burners in the front, little burners in the back. Putting a little pot in the front would result in overflow while big pots in the back will not do anything.

Women:

They have at least a four burner stove. They change out their pots. Some of the contents they serve up to others, other contents they can, some contents they even put in a freezer proof container for long term storage. Women are worried about the flavor and appearance. Even letting things sit for a while, before presenting and consuming and giving away.

Men:

Men’s brains are the same four burner configuration. We only have four burners and no upgrades! Each burner has a pan of something going on it. For most men three, if not all four burners always have the same pans on them. (I’ll let you decide what those pans are full of.) We don’t change the pans out. We just keep adding to the pots as things are cooked off. Sometimes what we add helps the flavor, other times it completely changes what is in the pot. Whereas women are concerned with the flavor and appearance, men just like to eat, who cares about long term storage!

Summary:

Why the fifth burner? Because some time ago, as all my burners were going full blaze, pots bubbling over, contents burning on the stove, I said to On Fire "I don’t know what to do… I can’t remove any of the pots but I need some more things cooking…" We (I’m not sure whether it was On Fire or I) decided that I needed to add a fifth burner. Guess what guys… God can do it!

Oh, and William Tyndale won. (I was pulling for him myself.) I stopped and gathered my resources last Friday, now I just need the time to read it and write it out. I have a feeling one of my pots is going to have an old world, Bible reformer flavor added to it pretty soon.
Have a great day!

Seriously, I need a little help. Who sounds more interesting. (Yawn) Yeah, I know. The first thing that ran through my head was, "Who are these guys?"

Here is a little more info.

George Fox - (July 1624 – January 13, 1691) was an English Dissenter who is commonly considered the founder of the Religious Society of Friends, commonly known as the Quakers. Living in a time of great social upheaval, he rebelled against the religious and political consensus by proposing an unusual and uncompromising approach to the Christian faith.

William Tyndale (ca. 1494–September 6, 1536) was a 16th century Protestant reformer and scholar who translated the Bible into the Early Modern English of his day. Although a number of partial and complete Old English translations had been made from the 7th century onward, Tyndale's was the first to take advantage of the new medium of print, which allowed for its wide distribution. In 1535 Tyndale was arrested, jailed in the castle of Vilvoorde outside Brussels, Belgium for more than a year, tried for heresy and treason and then strangled and burnt at the stake in the castle's courtyard.

William Wilberforce (24 August 1759 – 29 July 1833) was an English politician, philanthropist, and abolitionist who led the parliamentary campaign against the slave trade. A film titled Amazing Grace (released on 23 March 2007), about the life of Wilberforce and the struggle against slavery

Oh and by the way - I will be answering my first question soon, I think.

InTros...

Ok, so on the bequest of my lovely wife, On Fire For Jesus, I am starting this blog. I think it was mainly because I wanted to post a few things on her site, but she wasn't sure if she wanted them on her space... Thus The 5th Burner was birthed.

Oh, one more thing, the Don'ts - I don't have a lot of free time and I don't know how long this blog is gonna last. So, what's the harm in trying it out?

So here is a question for you:

Why is this blog called The 5th Burner?

Until next time, perhaps my next post could be about - What living with four women is teaching me, besides why I should invest in a chocolate stockpile!
